Hi! I’m Sherri Buckle, a proud resident of Cold Lake with deep roots in our community. My journey into public service began as a young stay-at-home mom, when I quickly realized how city decisions, from property taxes to service fees affect every household. Since returning to the workforce in 1998, I have built a diverse career in business, finance, and not-for-profit leadership, including nearly two decades with my current employer and operating my own business since 2017. This experience has given me insight into both the challenges and opportunities facing our community.
As your mayor, I am committed to practical, transparent leadership that prioritizes the safety, well-being, and prosperity of all Cold Lake residents. My campaign focuses on restoring community safety through consistent bylaw enforcement and advocacy for judicial accountability, ensuring that our neighborhoods feel secure. I also believe in responsible fiscal management, focusing on essential services, efficient operations, and careful oversight of major projects to protect taxpayers.
Equally important is fostering inclusive and connected communities, supporting collaboration with local partners, businesses, and service organizations to tackle challenges together.
My vision is a Cold Lake where families, businesses, and community members thrive, a city that is safe, welcoming, and financially responsible, without leaving anyone behind. I bring real-world experience, a commitment to transparency, and a deep love for Cold Lake to this campaign.
Together, we can build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous future for our community.

Bob Mattice
Candidate for Mayor
I am running for the office of Mayor of our great city Cold Lake. I am a current member of the City Council and absolutely love it.
I am on various assigned committees to serve our city such as Lakeland Housing Foundation, Cold Lake FCSS and the new City of Cold Lake MCC which are the owners of the Cold Lake Medical Clinic.
I am also a Community Pharmacist for the past 44 years 35 of those being here in Cold Lake I am a former medium sized business for 38 years (Retail Pharmacy)
I have served on the Cold Lake Chamber of Commerce who with 2 other members started the Cold Lake Home and Leisure show which at the time became a major fund raiser for the chamber.
My platform is to continue stewarding the current City Council’s forward. These being Community Safety, Health Care improvement, Economic development and Tourism.

Ty Mikolas
Candidate for Mayor
My name is Ty Mikolas; I was born and raised in a small town in Saskatchewan. Adulthood brought me to Alberta, first for the oilfield, followed by drywall, and a workplace injury, which lead to my career as a Registered Massage Therapist. I believe that over the past few decades, all levels of government have lulled us into a false sense of security, separating our sense of self and sense of community. I believe that in order to have a government that actually serves the best interests of the people, we need real accountability, transparency, and the ability for the average citizen to have their voice heard.
To do this requires a few simple steps, including referendum style voting on crucial issues around the community, with all pertinent information available, so we can make our decisions together as a community.
All taxpayer funded officials should take an oath of intention, integrity, and accountability to the taxpayer, with immediate dismissal as a repercussion if violated, and lastly, all financial information in regards to any city owned/operated services should be published online in a timely manner, for any concerned citizen to audit on their own free time, without any hurdles to leap through.
I believe that these simple changes can save democracy for all of us.
